Performance by Wonk the Band
WaterFire Columbus is becoming one of the most exciting art exhibits in Central Ohio. The flames reflect on the waters of the Scioto River. Audience members gather for an evening of natural art, music and activity featuring this remarkable display on the east side of COSI in front of Genoa Park. Amphitheater seating at Genoa Park will open at 6:30 p.m. followed by the performing partner at 7:30 p.m. Don’t miss the WaterFire lighting at 8:30 p.m. followed by another performance at 9:00p.m. WaterFire is a one-of-a-kind experience creating an opportunity for everyone to enjoy an evening out with the arts.

National Night Out
to Tue August 3 Aug, 2010 05:00 PM to Tue August 3 Aug, 2010 08:00 PMGenoa Township Police Chief Robert Taylor and Fire Chief Gary Honeycutt are pleased to announce that the departments’ annual National Night Out celebration and Ice Cream Social. This year’s event will take place from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at McNamara Park located behind the Fire and Police Stations, 7049 Big Walnut Road Galena, Ohio.
Plans include displays by both departments along with various demonstrations as well as a booth for Child ID cards. Handouts and pamphlets will also be available on such timely topics as identity theft, domestic violence, gang awareness, block watch associations, and crime prevention. To help reduce identity theft, Mid-Ohio Shredding has agreed to provide one of their shredding vehicles for document shredding at no cost.
Township residents are invited to attend and meet their police and fire fighters. Games for children and free food (hot dogs, soft drinks, slushies, ice cream, cookies) will also be available to enjoy.
The National Association of Town Watches sponsors National Night Out. The event is expected to attract more than 30 million people nationwide. The idea of the program has evolved into fostering a partnership between safety forces and the community residents. By working in concert, safety can be enhanced within our communities.
